Schlammspektakel

Es hätte alles perfekt sein können. Das Gewand war rechtzeitig fertig, die Vorfreude auf Saltatio Mortis und Rapalje groß, aber dann kam der Samstag... und es wurde furchtbar.
Gut, es müssen keine 30° sein, es muss auch nicht den ganzen Tag die Sonne scheinen, es genügt völlig, wenn es trocken bleibt.
Und genau das wurde uns gestern verwehrt. Im Gegenteil, kaum hatten wir gegen drei Uhr das Gelände betreten, öffnete der Himmel seine Schleusen.

Ein Wolkenbruch, dem einige andere folgten und die das diesjährige Spectaculum in Köln zu einem etwas anderen Erlebnis machten.
Wir waren also direkt zu Anfang nass, meine Mantel hatte ich leider im Auto gelassen. Dumm gelaufen. Apropos laufen.. meine Schuhe wanderten sofort in meinen Korb, denn sie waren triefnass. Barfusslaufen ist ja angeblich auch sehr gesund!

( Bitte die mangelhafte Pediküre ignorieren, ich hatte eigentlich nicht vor, meine Schuhe auszuziehen!)
Da waren meine Füße auch noch relativ sauber, je später der Tag, desto schlammiger wurde es, am Ende hatte es ein wenig was von Wattwandern.
Aber egal, wir wollten nicht aufgeben! Immerhin hatten wir 18 EUR Eintritt bezahlt, da will man ja doch nicht direkt wieder gehen.
Also suchten wir uns ein ( halbswegs) trockenes Plätzchen und lauschten den Darbietungen der nächsten Bühne.
Einen echten Schotten schockt auch schlechtes Wetter nicht ( sind die ja gewohnt... höhö)

Und die Damen Irrlichter trotzten dem Regen mit leicht äh anzüglichen Texten. ( Alles brave Jungfern.. jaja!)


Ein Konzert der improvisierten Art gab es von Saltatio Mortis. Nachdem wohl die Bühnentechnik vor dem Regen kapituliert hatte, gaben sie ein Konzert auf Augenhöhe.

Not macht halt erfinderisch!

Manche wurden vom Wetter auch zu neuen Sportarten verführt.

Leider noch nicht olympisch!

Das Wetter wurde auch gegen Abend nicht besser und wir zogen schon in Erwägung, doch nach Hause zu fahren. Aber das Nachtkonzert von Saltatio Mortis wollten wir uns dann doch nicht entgehen lassen.

Und es war SUPER! Die Technik war repariert worden und somit konnten sie ihren nassen, aber unermüdlichen Fans ordentlich einheizen.







Sogar der Wettergott hatte ein Einsehen und machte mal ganz kurz Pause. Allerdings haben wir dann schweren Herzens auf das anschließende Konzert von Rapalje verzichtet, denn das hätte einen weiteren Marsch durch den Matsch bedeutet und die nassen Klamotten wurden so langsam sehr unangenehm.
Ach ja.. Gewand. Leider ist das Bild vom diesjährigen Gewand eher ein wenig deprimierend.

Nein, der Rock hat keinen interessanten Farbverlauf, er ist nass.

Und sehr sehr dreckig. Das ganze Zeug hat jetzt zwei Runden Waschmaschine hinter sich. Meine Beine habe ich nachts noch mit der Wurzelbürste gereinigt. Ich hoffe, dass alle Spuren jetzt beseitigt sind. Und das nächstes Jahr das Wetter wieder etwas besser ist!




It could have been perfect. The dress was finished in time, the anticipation high for Saltatio Mortis and Rapalje but then Saturday came and it went all wrong. w
Okay, I don't need 30°C, no sunshine all day, just dry weather would have suit me!
But this was refused to us yesterday. On the contrary, we just entered the fair as it started raining cats and dogs.

A cloudburst, followed by several others turned the Spectaculum in Köln>Spectaculum at Cologne to something special.
We went totally wet at the beginning, unfortunately I left my coat in my car. Shit happens! I kicked off my shoes because they were totally soaked. Running barefoot is very healthy.

( Please ignore the ugly pedicure, I hadn't planned to take off my shoes!)
My feet were relatively clean, later the ground got more muddy and at the end it was like a mudflat hiking tour.
But anyway, we did't want to give up. We've paid 18 EUR and so we didn't want to leave at once.
So we looked for a dry place and listened to the concerts on the stage next to us.
Real Scots are not impressed by bad weather ( they are used to it.. *ggg*)

And the ladies of Irrlichter defied the rain with gamy songs.


Saltatio Mortis had an off the wall performance after the rain ruined the technical equipment on the stage.

Necessity is the mother of invention.


Some people invented new sports.

Unfortunately not Olympic yet!

The weather didn't improved in the evening so we really thought about leaving early. But we didn't want to miss the late night concert of Saltatio Mortis.

And it was great! They fixed the technical problems and so they could warm up there wet but undiscourageable fans.







Even the weather good showed some kind of mercy and the rain stopped for a while. But we resigned with a heavy heart and didn't go to the following concert of Rapalje. It would have been another walk through the mud and our wet clothe started getting very unconfortable.
Ah yes, the dress. Unfortunately there I only got a kind of depressing picture this year.

No, it's not an interesting dye at the seam, the skirt is just wet.

And very very dirty. The stuff needed two rounds in the washing maschine and my legs a treatment with a coarse scrubbing brush to get clean again. I hope all stains are eliminated and we have better weather next year!

Auf gutem Wege

Ich war fleissig, sehr sogar! ;)

Diese Woche kamen die wunderbar passenden Knöpfe vom Knopfparadies, 15 mm und altsilberfarben.

Und dann habe ich sie erst mal wieder getestet.

Fazit... sieht gut aus!
Das weiße Ding ist der Probeärmel. Furchtbarer Stoff, aber für einen Test hat es gereicht. Der "Fleppen" am Ärmel ist dann noch ein Stück gewandert.
Ein Wochenende später...

Übrigens, ICH kann die Knöpfe schließen, aber Püppi ist ein wenig fülliger...
Ärmel dekoriert und dann ( im Schweiße meines Angesichts) eingenäht. 16 Knopflöcher gemacht und 15 Knöpfe angenäht ( beim letzten Knopfloch überlege ich noch, ob ich das überhaupt brauche) und jetzt warten nur noch ein paar Meter Saum auf mich!
Ein Klacks bis Samstag!




I've been busy like a bee this weekend.

Last week my buttons from Knopfparadies arrived, 15mm and silver-coloured.

First I tried how they will look on the dress.

They look good! The white thing in the right is a musselin sleeve, terrible fabric, but good for testing. The "ear" has moved a bit after that!
One weekend later.

Btw, I can close the buttons on myself, but Püppi is a little bit bouffant.
The sleeves decorated and set in ( by the sweat of my brows). Sewed 16 buttonholes and 15 buttons ( I'm still considering if I need the last one) and now there are only several meters seam waitin for me! A piece of cake until Saturday!

Oder geschnürt? Das ist hier die Frage. Mein Gewand wird langsam und ich überlege, ob ich nicht statt einer Schnürung, wie bei dem roten Kleid, eine Reihe Knöpfe setze. Im Fundus habe ich nur Messingfarbene mit schwarzem Innenleben.

Man braucht halt eine Menge und ich habe meistens nicht unbedingt 15 Stück auf Lager.
Wobei sie ja nicht so schlecht aussehen.

Ich könnte mir natürlich auch welche in Silber oder Eisenfarben bestellen. Richtig A wären ja selbstgemachte aus Stoff, aber das dürfte wohl etwas zu lange dauern, bis ich die benötigte Anzahl gemacht habe!
Oder ich verwende eine schnöde Schnur und mache wieder viele Löcher.



Buttoned or laced, that's the question! My dress is progressing slowly and now I think about the front closure. Instead of a lacing I might set a row of buttons. In my stash there are only brassed-coloured ones with a black inlay.

You need a whole bunch and I don't always buy 15 buttons. They don't look that bad.

I can also buy some others in silver or iron. Really authentic would be to make some buttons from fabric but that would take a long time to get the amount I need!
Or I just use a simple lacing with cord and make a lot of small holes again.

Jetzt hat "er" sich kürzlich geoutet. Es ist kein "Frollein" sondern, ein "Mister". Nun muss ich mir einen neuen Namen einfallen lassen!




Lately "he" had his coming-out. It is no "Fräulein" but a "Mister". I guess I need a new name right now!

Fortschritt!

Nach einem kleinen krankheitsbedingten Rückstand habe ich ENDLICH mein Projekt Gewandung 1.1 angefangen. Letzte Woche zugeschnitten und heute die ersten Schritte getan. Sieht doch schon recht vielversprechend aus mit den zwei Farben.

Und das mit den Gêren hat dann auch wieder geklappt.

Sie sind augenscheinlich noch nicht ausgebügelt. Und meine Rückseite ist nicht ganz so attraktiv wie die von Pippa! ;)





After a little delay caused by illnes I'm now back on the track. Last week I've cut the linen and started sewing today.
Looks promising with the two colours.

And the gores work quite perfect.

Obviously they are not ironed yet. And my backside doesn't look as delicious as Pippa's! ;)
